Back in the big “U”, you can see Judy running from the cops, chilling with some bad dogs, shopping till she drops, with a rather large ego. But seriously, that would be my evil twin. How about this…back in the big “U”, you can see Judy around her friends doing random things, hanging out in cafes (favorite one is Cafe Dominico’s) either chatting it up with friends or when by her self, reading a book (closet reader). Also, going on some crazy excursions with said friends, AKA planning summer and winter trips to new places each year. Judy loves her four cats and dog (lint/ hair rollers are always a must in my house). During camping trips, she loves to go hiking and camping in the Adirondacks. As long as she is exploring new places or out in the Adirondacks, Judy is loving it all.
Now, let’s go back to first person narrative shall we? I want to end this bio by saying I seriously could not do anything without my family and friends. You all make life so special to me, I would not be inspired to be who I am without you all next to me. Even when I am in Ireland and other places, I will be thinking of you all.
Live life. Be brave.
Lets list the nicknames because I have been known on the streets by different names:
Well of course there’s…
1. Judy (seriously?)
2. Judith (even though Judy is my real name, however, I am not offended when I am called Judith. I actually think it is pretty cool.)
3. Jude
4. Spilka #2 (courtesy of Mr. Puckey when the Spilka twins took the same english class in high school at the same time. Chris was Spilka #1)
5. Jibudiby…sounds like jii-boo-die-bee… courtesy of Cibindiby (Cindy)…sounds like sigh-bin-die-bee… (This nickname was created on a camping excursion in the Adirondacks. As we were being lazy on a rainy day, Cindy and I created nicknames from a Chicago street language that we discovered. However, I do not know if the “ib” street language is still used in Chicago in modern times, since the people who taught us learned the language 50 years ago. Sounds confusing? I would be).
6. Juday (jew-day)
7. Judaiya (jew-die-uh….or…..jew-day-yah)
8. Jumping Judster (back in the day during summer basketball camp, our coach for the week picked nicknames for us. Jumping Judy was mine and Hannah was dubbed Happy Hannah. Since then, Hannah and I remodeled our nicknames into Jumping Judster and Happy Hanster).
9. Sploogie Milka (this past summer, when the group decided that jumping off bridges was the new “in”, Wagner and I took our turn to jump off a newly discovered bridge. In the air as we were plummeting into the depths of the lake, Wagner yelled “SPLOOGIE MILKA”! Afterwards, when we rose from below the surface of the lake, I asked him what he meant by Sploogie Milka. He proclaimed Sploogie Milka as my new nickname. Since Wagner is a prodigy, the group takes Wagners statements as words of wisdom. Hence, Sploogie Milka was born).
Hi Judy,
Dad has me keep him updated on your trip. He says, “I love you honey. I’m glad your back in Ireland.” Hope all is well.
Love,
Nat
Hey Nat! Yes, dad was able to get a hold of me the other day. Have you been reading the posts to him? This blog has been loads of fun. But trying to keep each post small has been so impossible. Also, I keep re-editing them too. Trying to keep them interesting.
Anyways, Ireland has been great. On my free time during the week, I try and do as much exploring as possible in Dublin while during weekends and such I am going to try to leave the city and explore Ireland and in the future, countries throughout Europe.
I hope all is well and this summer I better see you!!!
Love you!
Judy
